I think you’re going to be a big reader, when you can read. Right now you’re at the point where you know the sounds most consanents pretty consistently. Vowels are still a little harder, but you can help me sound out words. We’re not quite putting them together yet. But you will grab a stack of books and mutter the story to yourself as you flip through the pages. I love that we can go out on the balcony on perfect weather days like today (when Josiah is napping) and enjoy books, peace, and the view.

We spend most our afternoons outside, whenever it’s warm enough. Today when I walked outside you showed me a motionless moth you had scooped out of the pool. You held it in your hands and slowly it started to twitch and come to life. Within about 5 minutes, it actually flew off your fingertips. You saved it and brought it back to life. And you. were. thrilled.

Josiah was sick this morning, so we made smoothies and ate breakfast on the couch… and off the floor. And instead of going to the gym, I put a You Tube yoga video on and asked if you wanted to do it with me, Adela. I am truly impressed by your ability to mimic the poses, your energy,and focus. You wanted to do a second video when we finished the first, so I put on a dance workout video and you danced around for another 20 minutes, pretty much doing your own thing, informing me occasionally that you were “essercising.” So cute. I do think that you have a natural ability and grace when it comes to movement. I don’t think that I’ll be putting off dance class much longer.
