2013 Tranmer Family Photos in Oroville

Granny and Grandpa’s Mothers/Father’s day present was a session with you guys. It was also a present to us (and to Auntie Steph) because it’s so important to me to have these photos of our family, of you guys with your grandparents. (Mimi and Papi are next!) It’s generally hard to find a time when everybody wants to be photographed, so this time there was some warning and we set aside an hour to do it. Well worth it. You kids are so blessed to be loved by so many people. I thank God for all your grandparents, aunties and tias, how much they all love you. I know we’ll cherish these pictures for many years. I hope you guys will too.

Photo Post – Glass Beach

On our way home from Granny and Grandpa’s house we spent two nights as a family at the beach. Glass Beach. I was a little thrown off when we arrived and found a big lumber mill on the water instead of pristine beaches, but once we delved into the town a little bit more, we found the hidden charm. The glass beach isn’t how it looks in the postcards. While we were there, every other visiting family we saw had buckets with which they were collecting and taking home glass pieces despite the signs EVERYWHERE asking people to leave the glass be. Unfortunately, nobody follows the rules. It was still pretty. Even though vibrant colors are scarce. And it’s always nice to be on the water. My soul soaks it up. Don’t you two look cute in your flannel shirts? 🙂

I enjoyed just being with you guys, exploring the town, drinking coffee at local cafes, eating seafood in the cute little downtown restaurants, walking on the beach, being COLD, hehe. 🙂 It was nice. I’m getting a yen to go back to the beach (maybe not this one) right now. Southern Cali beaches are nice. But they aren’t like Northwestern beaches, and I’m a NW girl.

Special Report – Road Trip to Washington 2013

This trip has become a yearly tradition, and it’s a lot of work, but it’s also a lot of fun. We drive up to Washington, spend some time in the Seattle area while Daddy works and then we go to Granny and Grandpa’s for a week and then we drive back home, usually with a stop at the beach. This is the first time we’ve done it with 2 kids, since Josiah just joined us last fall. And it really is fun having the both of you. The interactions between the two of you are so entertaining. And honestly, I think the car ride is easier with 2 of you. You entertain each other.

Things we did on this trip. We stopped at most of the rest stops we always stop at. We let Josiah stretch his legs a lot. We found every patch of grass we could between here and Seattle so that he could crawl around with hurting his knees. We stayed in the southcenter area for 2 nights when we got to Washington which was cool because that’s my stomping grounds. We went to Southcenter mall, ate at Duke’s, drove by my old house (Mimi and Papi rent it out now) and hung out at my old neighborhood park.) We had our family pictures taken and spent a day on the Seattle waterfront. Then the three of us hung out in Mukilteo while Daddy worked all week. That meant hanging on in the extended stay doing laundry, going to the local park, visiting some friends down south, shopping at the mall, and spending some time with Tia Kristy in Kent (Ivars, Coulon, doughnuts, coffee, shopping!)

After Daddy was done for the week, we packed up the car again and headed to Oroville where we enjoyed the heat and green with Granny, Grandpa and Auntie Steph. You guys played in the pool and rode in the tractor and “helped” Grandpa and Daddy frame a room. It went by so fast!

On the way home we spent a night in Glass Beach. I’ll post some photos from our day at the beach next.
