Well, we managed to do a couple Valentine’s Day crafts this year. Hopefully next year I’ll do better with following through on all the cute and fun food and craft ideas I’ve pinned. Honestly, you’re still really young for any type of construction type craft. Next year you’ll probably get a lot more out of all my ideas. These 2 you found slightly interesting. You at least hung out with me and attempted both of them. It’s still fun to do these types of things with you, even though you maybe don’t do exactly what you’re supposed to do perfectly. You do listen and you do try. For a barely 2-year-old you’re amazing. 🙂
We made this garland with a piece of ribbon and different color felt hearts I cut out by hand. I put a piece of tape on the end of the ribbon to stiffen it up for you. I found that if I put the ribbon in one slit, you would do the other. And you loved pulling the ribbon through.
You can turn ANYthing into jewelry, baby. Even little felt hearts with slits cut them. Straight on the fingers they went. You wore them until you went down for a nap.
This next one, I really thought you’d be way more into. I guess the 2-egg-and-cheddar-cheese omelet you had just eaten went right through you because all you really did was cram as many of these cheerios (actually Trader Joes Strawberry Yogurt O’s which you love) into your mouth as quickly as possible. Frantically. As if Strawberry Yogurt O’s had just been placed on the endangered species list. Those 4 were the most you got on your pipe cleaner at one time. Usually you LOVE this type of craft. We make bracelets with pony beads all the time, and necklaces with cereal… but today was just not the day for it I guess. You sat and watched me make my cereal hearts though. Then we hung them under the eaves of our house for the birds. None came around. Go figure. Normally we can’t get rid of the birds by the front door. It was a good idea in theory. And anything I get to do with you is fun regardless. 🙂
Happy Valentine’s Day, Baby! xoxo
