First – Fort!

Tia Kristy and I used to build forts all the time. Well, I built them. She played in them with me. We used to take all the afghans and blankets we could find and drape them over every available piece of furniture. Back then, I always made sure the VCR and TV were inside the fort with us so that we could watch our Get Smart and VHS recordings. It was fun. And Mima was soooo good about letting us keep them up for days at a time. Mima likes order, but she always made an exception when we built forts. I remember that when she would ask us to put them away, it would usually be days later after the novelty of it had worn off any way. She was cool like that.

Mima had thrown a blanket over one of her tables at her house the last time she babysat you and it reminded me. I can’t believe I hadn’t thought to do this for you before now. But I guess that’s what Mimas are for. I think our first attempt was kind of a masterpiece. It had a futon mattress/full bed set up on the floor with pillows and blankets, a second story you could climb up on, a window for looking outside, and a secret entrance only you and Jeffrey could fit through. The secret entrance was definitely your favorite part… well, aside from the bed itself. We left it up forย  3 days. And Daddy fit in there with us a few times. We watched movies, played Zelda, and just hung out and played. Jeffrey loved it too. He slept in there every chance he got.

Fun stuff. And this is our first try. We’ll going to build a lot of these in the future, babe. Looking forward to it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Angie - So cute! You put my fort making skills to shame! ๐Ÿ™‚ You got some amazing light in there. I recently built a fort for the kids on a rainy day and it was so dark, but I did take a few pictures. Forts are so fun!ReplyCancel
