Saw this idea on Pinterest and loved it. So the last time we went to JoAnn’s we stocked up on some pretty felt. This little creation, dubbed a “button snake”, is basically a ribbon with a loop sewn on one end and a button sewn on the other, and little felt squares with slits cut in the middle of them that you like onto the ribbon “snake”. Total cost about $5. Total time investment about 45 minutes. The cutting took a while even though I only eye-balled it. No measuring for us. You were completely fascinated with the whole process, watching and “helping” the entire time.
So the purpose of this little handcrafted toy is to teach you how to thread a button. We’re not quite there yet. You got a little frustrated trying to pull them off by brute force. We’ve been working on it more since then (today we practiced on my sweater) and you’re getting closer. You did, however, enjoy attempting to wear it as a bracelet. You have proven to me that just about anything can be a bracelet. 🙂
I think we’ll come back to Mr. Button Snake in a couple weeks and give it another go.
