May 28, 2011 – First Water Wings! You did so well in the pool your first go round of 2011. It was pretty chilly, but you took it like a champ. No tears this time! You love being held in the water. We tried out the water wings on you. That was a little too much. No crying, but it was obvious they scared you. We didn’t force this issue. We’ll try again a little later in the summer. 🙂
June 22, 2011 – First Truck. Who says girls can’t play with trucks? You love this little truck your Mima bought. You put rocks and dirt and all manner of plant matter and desert weeds in it and push it around. This was the first time you played with it. You seemed, with just a tiny bit of enouragement, to know just what to do.
June 22, 2011 – First Time on the potty! You didn’t actually go, but you sat there and tried. And then you grabbed your own toilet paper and wiped yourself anyway. Momma is so proud! hehe. We haven’t actually started potty training yet, but the fact that you sat there and didn’t cry is a good sign. We’re going to start training as soon as we get back from vacation. We’ll try at least! We already a have a special Elmo seat for our house, and a princess seat for Mima’s house.
June 23, 2011 – First time in the Sprinklers! We had to get you out of the car for a break the first day of our road trip up to Washington. You did amazingly well, but 3 hour stretches was about all you could handle. When you saw the sprinklers going at the rest stop, we decided to let you have at it. You had a blast, cooled off and expended enough energy that you were an angel in the car for another three hours. 🙂
July 1, 2011 – First day of the first week we got rid of your “Bobby”. No more bottles for baby. It’s been several weeks since then and you’re still not drinking milk out of a cup. You can be very stubborn when you want to be.
July 2, 2011 – First drink out of a hose! We grew up doing it. On a hot summer day, there’s just nothing better. July 3, 2011 –Â You had your first corn on the cob. A-dorable. And you loved it!
July 4, 2011 – First Sparkler. I wish I could say this was my first mistake as a mother. Alas it’s not, but it is the worst I’ve let you get hurt. I was helping you hold a sparkler – your first one ever- and wasn’t fast enough to stop you from picking up a hunk of burning ash off the grass. You blistered. I feel AWFUL. You seem to be okay, but I guess you won’t be playing with any more of those until you’re 25 or so.
July 8, 2011 – First trip to Circus Circus. We took a 48 hour pit stop in Reno to rest Daddy’s hurting back on the drive home from Washington. We made it out of the hotel room for a few hours and cruised around Circus Circus. You drove a Harley and a car, Dance Dance Revlotioned, and sent a couple chickens flying into pots. And you skee-balled like a champ! Look at all those tickets! 🙂
