We held your first Easter Egg hunt the day before Easter in Mima and Papi’s front yard. First we decked you out in one of the 4 or 5 Easter dresses you were given this year. It was hard to choose. They are all so adorable – especially paired up with your Easter hat and basket. You looked beautiful.
You’re still a little unsure on your feet when you’re on rocky ground. Whenever an egg looked a little too hard, you’d stand still and reach your arm out and wait for us to lend a hand.
I was so impressed how you caught on right away. You’d find an egg, hold it up proudly and drop it in your basket and clap at every new find. So cute.
And when we let you loose on the pavement after the egg hunt on all the rocky terrain, you took off running.
Most of your eggs were empty. I’m sure I won’t be able to get away with that next year. But this time you were content – actually completely absorbed – in one caramel chocolate egg. Your sweet reward for all your hunting.
Easter day we drove out to Burbank to visit Great Grandma McIntire and the family. Our cousins visited for the day as well and you got to meet Zoe for the first time. She’s about a year older than you and you liked her right away. You never hesitated when we asked you to give her hugs and kisses. You tried to dance with her and followed her her dolly around whenever you weren’t completely overwhelmed by all the new adults hanging about. You’ve gotten a little bit shy when it comes to grown ups you don’t know.
One of my favorite things about Grandma McIntire’s house has always been her amazing yard. She loves gardening and grows all kinds of fruit trees, flowers, succulents, cacti, and bushes. It’s really amazing. It was great watching you run around the yard checking out and smelling all the flowers.
And for desert, after Easter dinner, you had your first ice cream cone. You were a big fan.
